Background: Miras Ltd. was established in 1999, by CEO, Dr. Zvi Rakocz, in Tel Aviv, Israel. After years of extensive Research and Development, Miras had begun Sales and Marketing of the patented MirroScope™, with world-wide success. Upon popular demand, Miras has now branched into the U.S. and Europe. Providing the solution to the problems brought about by poor viewing in the dental profession, the MirroScope™ is expected to dominate the imaging market in the dental industry of today.
The Vision: Dentists suffer from eye-strain, backaches, and other skeletal disorders that are brought about by poor-viewing. The dental industry has yet to supply a comfortable imaging device that provides the necessary viewing for diagnosis, patient education, AND treatment. The fact of the matter is, dentists need to see better, and are often forced into early retirement because of the occupational hazards in the profession. With the help of modern-day technology, Miras achieved the goal of developing the device which would put an end to the suffering of dentists in their everyday job, and provide them with the necessary magnification, illumination, flexibility, and ergonomics that has been missing thus far. Currently, Miras is focusing on extending their goal by implementing the MirroScope™ into every clinic, and every university, to the point that dentists will wonder how they ever practiced without it.
The Product: The MirroScope™ is an innovative dental instrument, which combines the traditional dental mirror and a miniature digital camera. The camera eye is mounted in a 1mm uncovered zone in the center of the 30 degree angle mirror, while the camera itself is embedded in the unit’s handle. A set of powerful white LEDs illuminate the working area around the mirror. The image that is seen in the mirror, is portrayed on the monitor, with up to a 30X magnification. The MirroScope™ is offered in two versions: The View 300 (with a monitor), and the Pro 200 (without the monitor).
The Market: The use of the MirroScope™ is mainly as an operative and educational tool in the dental market and specifically within the disciplines of endodontics, periodontics, restorative dentistry, oral and maxillofacial surgery.
